Imam al-Hasan[as] said: There is no day like yours O Aba Abdella!
All Praise to the Almighty, through His Grace, we are able to hold commemorations throughout the year. The sacred month of Muharram is upon us and we intend to hold programs, commemorating the great sacrifice, to convey our condolences to the Prophet[s] and Ahlul Bayt[as], especially the Lady of Light[sa], on the great tragedy, the Martyrdom of Imam al-Hussain[as]. In collaboration with the Al-Ghadeer community, the programs will be held, in person, at the Islamic Humanitarian Service Centre (81 Hollinger Cr., Kitchener, ON). Also, it will be streamed live on www.tinyurl.com/shiaww.
5:00 PM—7:00 PM Al-Ghadeer Community: Speech by Shaykh Rafat AlKinani (ARABIC)
7:30 PM—9:30 PM ISJ-WW: Speech by Shaykh Shafiq Hudda (ENGLISH) On the topic of " Facing Modern Challenges Through The Teachings of Thaqalain"
Anyone wishing to participate in the recitations (Holy Quran, Marthiya, Ziyarat Ashura) during these programs can email us at kwshiaevents@gmail.com or record their name on the sign-up sheet on the men’s side (posted in the coming nights). For The Safety of Everyone, It is highly recommended to please keep Masks on during the programs ( masks will also be provided at the entrance to the center ), If feeling unwell or have symptoms of Covid we request you to please stay at home. The program will also be available to watch live on Youtube for those that can not attend in person.
Volunteers are needed to help out During the Muharram Programs for both the men's side as well as the ladies' side. Sign-up Sheets will be available to sign up for volunteers.
Niaz can be brought pre-packaged or volunteers can help pack the Niaz in the kitchen.
Pray the Almighty to accept these commemorations and draw us all closer to Himself and His Beloved Ones[as]!
